Artist Statement

I am an artist working with fabric and other fibers to create textile pieces that reflect my relationship with the world around me, as well as the inner world of emotion.

I have been making fabric constructions for over twenty years, starting out with traditional quilt making, but soon discovering the joys of dyeing my own fabrics and creating my own quilt designs.  For the past three years, following my retirement from a career in Social Work, I have been able to work as a full- time studio artist.

I like to think of myself as a mark maker with fabric and thread, an explorer of color, line and texture, as I strive to discover new connections with my inner and outer world in the work I do.
